This second volume contains two chapters; of these, the first chapter deals with verbs that state an event or state, and certain suffixes and other helper words that occur with them in order to provide certain additional information about them.

Several case roles are involved in the events that verbs state, and these are identified by noun phrases that occur with verbs in sentences. In order to carry out this function of identifying case roles, noun phrases have to indicate the quality, quantify and location of case roles; the second chapter of this volume describes how the words and other kinds of expressions occurring in noun phrases carry out this task.
